Frequently Asked Questions

  • A free 15 minute phone consultation is provided to all potential clients to help both the client and clinician determine if they are a good fit. Administrative information is discussed such as fees, availability, and type of service will also be addressed in the consultation. The goal is that by the end of the consultation, both the clinician and client will feel confident in scheduling the first session.
  • Therapy: Finding a therapist that feels to be a good fit is crucial so the clinician will be able to explain how they may be able to assist the client in reaching their goals.
  • Assessment: Assure the clinician can provide the support/assessment measures that are needed based on the referral question.
  • Therapy: Telehealth via a secure and confidential telehealth platform (CA residences).
  • Assessments: All assessments do occur in person in our Upland office. One of the two sessions can be held virtually to help the clinician observe the client in a “natural” setting.
  • It has been shown to be as effective as in person therapy.
  • It is convenient and can fit into your busy schedule.
  • You can schedule a session before work, during your lunch break, while on vacation or on a business trip (in CA), or while your kids are in practice or napping.
  • You waste no gas or miles.
  • No need to drive in traffic which then means you can use your time more wisely.
  • You get to be comfortable in your own space and get to choose where you prefer to have your therapy sessions.
  • You are not limited to seeing a therapist in your city and can now meet with a clinician anywhere in the state of California.
  • Therapy: 45-50 minutes
  • Psychological Assessment: Minimum 2 hours (hours vary depending on referral)
  • Maybe you are suspecting possible ASD, looking for a second option, needing a clinical diagnosis (versus medical or school eligibility), or having some concerns about your child’s development.

As an adult, you may notice you continue to have social struggles, rigidities that make it difficult to function, sensory needs that impact you day to day life, repetitive behaviors that you can’t seem to manage, rituals, and/or fixations.

We do not accept insurance at this time. We do, however, offer superbills for you to pursue Out-of-Network (OON) reimbursement through your PPO plans/insurance. PPO plans will often reimburse you a percentage of the service fee. Superbills are provided to you on a biweekly or monthly basis, as requested. You will submit your full session fee to Calm PATH, receive a superbill from us, and you will directly provide the superbill to your insurance in order to be partially reimbursed for the services. Please contact your insurance company to confirm if and how much they reimburse for out of network psychotherapy services.
*We do not work with or communicate with insurance companies directly.

At Calm PATH, we operate as a private pay (out-of-network) practice to prioritize clinical integrity, privacy, and the quality of care we provide. Many clients choose private pay because they value discretion and greater control over how their personal information is shared, as insurance use can place diagnoses and treatment details into a permanent medical record which, in some cases, can be accessed by other entities. Insurance companies may also limit session length, assessment depth, or diagnostic requirements, which can restrict the thorough, individualized approach we believe in. By remaining out of network, we are able to focus fully on your unique needs and provide care guided by clinical judgment—not insurance rules.

We are happy to provide a superbill upon request for those who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement.
